Til we meet again and tender mercies...

Victoria officially became "Sister Foster" on Tuesday night. She was set apart by President Murphy, with the assistance of President Savage, Bishop Nielson, Her dad, Grandpa Boyack, Uncle John, Bro Kemple, Bro Hammond and Bro Anderson. Her blessing was quite honestly one of the most powerful blessings I have ever heard.

The world fell apart between getting home from the church and her entering the MTC. We came home to a broken sprinkler system, broken washer, no air conditioning upstairs and no hot water. In addition, Hayley was in extreme pain from getting to steroid shots in both front hip bones that afternoon. THEN, Emily started throwing up around 2 am and Victoria started around 6. Dan gave her a beautiful blessing that promised she would be healthy the moment she entered the MTC, even though she would be sick up until then.  We decided to skip going out to lunch and let her rest as long as possible, then headed out. In Lehi we had to pull over so she could throw up on the side of the road, then we made it to the Provo temple. We took some family pics, then sat under a shady tree with her head in our laps and a gallon zip lock baggy close at hand. At 12:55 she sat up, said "let's do this" and was fine! What a wonderful testimony to priesthood blessings!!

Dan, Hayley and Erin left for trek from there and Emily and I went home to our broken house. I was able to re program the sprinklers (yea me!) and our wonderful neighbor Travis came over to look at the water heater. Apparently it had been turned to vacation mode accidently, so a turn of the knob and we were back in business with hot water!!!  Gordon came over to look at our air and found the problem (a broken fan). He has a great friend who sold us the part at a huge discount and Gordon has fixed it for free. SO many tender mercies!

Sending her off to the MTC was probably one of the BEST parenting moments I have ever had, and also one of the hardest. I know the day didn't go as we had envisioned, with fun celebration meals and fun, but it was a huge testimony builder for our family. This gospel is awesome and San Antonio is getting an INCREDIBLE missionary!
